Source Books

The exhibits are accompanied by Source Books containing Reindeer Project family histories from the areas where the museums are located. Edited by Ruthann Cecil, they contain historical, biographical and genealogical information. Visitors are encouraged to add comments, corrections and new information.

Copies of the Source Books can be ordered from the Saami Báiki Office in Alaska. This little nook in the exhibit space at the Alaska Native Heritage Center in Anchorage contained a Source Book, a map of the Reindeer Stations and a brief history by Alaska Reindeer Project descendant Lois Stover. An updated Reindeer Project Chronology is being prepared by Nathan Muus.
